Kitten Chaos!

Ezmerelda and Bugsy play with each other all night long! It’s utter chaos…and I’m loving every minute! Bugsy has been a bad influence on Ezmerelda, he plays in the bath tub, so now she plays in the bath tub. They both have wet heads, a lot…but he has brought out her inner kitten, which is exactly what I wanted.

She also started using her bed when he showed interest. It’s cool, he’ll cuddle with mommy.

Meet Bugsy!

We adopted a 5 month old baby boy, who I named Bugsy, for Ezmerelda to play with. So far, she’s being a girl about it, but she hasn’t been aggressive. They even ate dinner together, on the different levels of the cat tree! He just got here today, so I’d say that’s pretty great. He makes me laugh, all the time and his snuggles…which I’ve only sampled, are really good snuggles. We have 2 litter boxes on opposite sides of the apartment and our home is complete. Our princess will come around, but today, she is punishing her daddy by not giving him snuggles. Poor Gideon.

Welcome home, Ezmerelda!

We adopted Ezmerelda today. She’s about 5 months old, super chill and sweet. We are so excited to get to know her. As I try to wipe cat dander off my shirt, I can’t wait to feed her good food that will improve her coat…for now, she’s daddy’s little princess and will be spoiled rotten!

The Cat Servant Challenge

I have to say something and I’m pretty sure you’re not going to like it…but I’m going to say it anyway. Ready?? YOUR PETS ARE NOT HUMANS.

We can treat our cats and dogs and any other pet as human, and they definitely WILL bond with us, but when it comes down to it, they live by their instincts. Period.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty sure our furry friends know how to humor us, comfort us and even make us laugh at times, but really guys and gals…THIS meme is absolute NONSENSE.

sappy cats

Yeah, no. Feline mothers are dedicated to making sure her kittens survive and thrive to a point where she no longer has to take care of them, then she chases them away to go find their own territory and get out of hers. That’s all folks.

So the next time you snap a picture of your cat’s face, while they are just chilling out on the bed and you think it “looks like he is mad at me”, he’s not. If he’s annoyed by you, you will know it. Flicking tail, growling, ears back, ready pounce…or to a lesser extent, flicking tail, twitching back fur and a warning bite. Our cats are pretty easy to read, you just have to pay attention. It all has to do with 4 things…hunting, eating, grooming or territory. Those things drive our feline friends and pretty much all of their shenanigans can be explained by their need to do those things. Don’t believe me? Try me.

Send me some pictures, or a story of something your cat does and let’s see if I can figure out why they do it. Give me the low down and let’s see if we can solve the mystery of your cat’s mind.
